Project results

The results of the project can be summarised as follows:

  • DfA knowledge spill-overs through targeted consolidation and outreach activities (e.g., book series, seminars, educational & training programs, technology transfer, etc), including:
    • curriculum guidelines to support training and education at Bachelor and Masters level and to provide professional development
    • a training course “Introduction to eAccessibility”
    • CEN Workshop on 'Curriculum for training professionals in Universal Design' (WS/UD-PROF)
  • The re-design and development of the EDeAN web portal;
  • Compilation of an extensible pool of common interoperable DfA resources and the development of a resource base on DfA providing access to material developed by previous EC-funded projects; this activity linked and exploited current developments in the context of EDeAN and in particular the ARIADNE Design for All Resource Centre;
  • Training courses delivered by CA representatives - EDeAN National Contact Centres in the context of national or international activities;
  • Support to end users and designers alike through invitations to workshops, to promote discussion and information sharing on technical topics in the project’s joint programme of Activities;
  • Cooperation and collaboration at national and international levels to share knowledge and experiences on DfA through participation in common case studies and dissemination activities;
  • Support and coordination for the work of the EDeAN Special Interest Groups and enhancement of their off-line activities;
  • Increased awareness on DfA and related issues to the wider public and creation of an international DfA consensus;
  • Dissemination and outreach of the project goals.
